Amor Arizona Project - locate in San Carlos Apache Reservation (
South of Pheonix, AZ and close to Globe, AZ). The project would consist of working within the community of the Indian Reservation constructin houses for familes who are in need. The project is still new to Amor and is considered a 'pilot project'.
The home is 28'x24', and it is a two bedroom, one bathroom home and will be constructed in two phases:
1 -
Shell Phase - due to the plumbing needs and such, the foundation will be prepoured for the home, so the group will stand the walls (made of a material called Panel W), cut the openings for the doors and windows where needed, and feed the rough plumbing and electrical tubes through the walls, stucco both the interior and exterior of the walls, and place the stucco of the roof.
2 -
Finish Phase - the group will touch up on stucco, install electrical wires (not live ones), paint the inside and outside, install the interior doors, closet doors, and the cupboards in the bathroom and the kitchen, install appliances, and much more to make the home ready for the family to move in.
There is a possibility that an afterschool program or night VBS can be set up for the surrounding communities children.
The campground is same as the campground in Mexico and is outside of the reservation with bathrooms and security.
The complete cost for the trip is $575/per person. A deposit of $75 is due immediately and fundraising has already begun. If you aren't already signed up, sorry, the trip is full.
